So you love a mid-July birthday Cancer and you still haven't bought them a birthday gift? Shame on you! You're probably already late, and if not, you're just about to be, so you'd better pull it together quickly. The most valuable piece of advice I can give you is: Don't act like it doesn't matter! It does. To a sensitive, emotional Cancer, if you forget their special day and then act like it isn't important, they will interpret it as meaning you don't care about them, and it will crush them. Being forgetful is a totally forgivable offense, not caring about them feels like the end of the world. Trust me. However hard, suck it up and apologize if you mess up. Be sincere and convince them you are sorry, because their birthday really IS important to you, isn't it?

Once that's settled, a Cancer baby is not hard to please. It's all about feeling loved. Cherished, protected and spoiled doesn't hurt either, but comfort and security come from basking in that warm glow of being loved and adored. Convince your Cancer of that, and they'll forgive nearly anything and shower you with affection. And being on the receiving end of a happy Cancer's devotion is a nice place to be.

Cancers are very sentimental, so add a personal touch to your gift. They'll love it. Something with their name or initial on it is nice, or a symbol of something they love, or something you share. It's not important that it be expensive, just make it personal or have some special sentimental meaning for them.

Another thing to remember about the typical Cancer native is that they tend to be rather traditional, maybe even old fashioned, in their tastes.
